Our yacht survey provides an in-depth assessment of all critical onboard systems, utilizing advanced Diacom Marine engine diagnostic software—a specialized service not commonly offered by other surveyors. This technology precisely identifies engine issues and retrieves ECM codes.

Our evaluation confirms compliance with U.S. Coast Guard and American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards, assessing vessel suitability for your intended use. It also provides accurate valuation (purchase and replacement) based on recent comparable market sales.

 

Optional Sea Trial

A sea trial can be conducted to evaluate vessel performance while underway.

 

Personalized Hands-On Training

As an added benefit, we include personalized, hands-on training covering all yacht systems during the survey—an uncommon service designed to enhance your familiarity and comfort with your vessel.

 

How Long Does a Yacht Survey Take?

Inspections typically last several hours, with additional time for compiling detailed observations, referencing standards, and assessing market values. You can expect a comprehensive report, including photographs, recommendations, and detailed findings, within 24-48 hours.

 

What's Not Included?

We do not remove panels or equipment requiring tools, nor move personal belongings. In-depth analyses beyond basic functionality checks (engines, electronics, rigging) require separate specialists.

Optional oil analysis helps identify internal engine and transmission conditions, potentially saving on engine surveyor expenses. Results typically arrive within a few days, offering critical insights to mechanics or surveyors for repair assessments.

 

Project Monitoring

We oversee blister repairs, deck restorations, transom projects, and other structural improvements. Initial moisture meter readings establish a baseline, with regular follow-ups to ensure surfaces are thoroughly dry before final product applications.

 

Refit and Repower Monitoring

Our expert oversight ensures refitting and re-powering projects comply with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards. ​​

 

Personalized Boat Training
Gain confidence on the water with personalized training from Jason. Instruction covers essential boating skills, including navigation, maneuvering, anchoring, docking, and safety protocols, tailored to both new boaters and experienced sailors upgrading to larger vessels.
